Does Limewire makes the PC slow?

Three file sharing programs--Limewire, BearShare and Kazaa share dominance in the file-sharing business. Most people use the Free versions of the three. But Limewire is considered to be least intrusive. That's what we got from the cyberspace.Apart from that it offers more user control. And under ideal circumstances there is least background bandwidth use by Limewire. Again something we unearthed from related forums. So under ideal circumstances there are no speed related problems with Limewire.
Add to the above one important fact--most of us at BMT have made a resolve not to use an anti-virus, we solely depend on the two utilities provided by Windows Operating Systems--System Restore and Firewall.
Why? well, that for another day.
So if somebody says a fully updated anti-virus is a must in a PC, whenever someone plans to go for programs like Limewire, my suggestion is, although this piece of advice looks weighty, you can afford to ignore it.
The above verdict is holds good under ideal circumstance.
Now let's discuss the exceptional or abnormal circumstance--when the PC does get a virus or malware infection.
A PC can get infection by two ways: one through the executable content downloaded through Limewire and; second through the malware either strategically placed by Limewire itself or by parasites that secretly attach themselves to Limewire, and earn at its cost.
Let us explain you the former way: Like other File sharing programs which profit from bandwidth usage(more uploads and downloads), Limewire also tries to increase its volume, no matter what the methods are. Remember there is no sage in the world of file sharing. The only difference being--some adopt comparatively more ethical methods than others.
An example will make the talk more simple. Some of you, who have been using Limewire for some time, will be aware that no search. however rare it may be, shows zero results--where in all probabilty, it is possible not to find the desired search. Why? ....because, even in such cases, Limewire shows four or five files which although have nothing in common with the search, are eponymous(having the same name)with the search text. Initailly not knowing this juggulary, the user downloads one of these files, and later finds that they are just band width occupying methods(or in simple, not the data the user wanted).
But this is case only for non exe data like movies and music files, where the above juggulary costs the user some time and sometimes money. But when such files are exes, then the loss is double, first on the above count and then on opening them, they infect the PC with some malicious stuff, which makes the Limewire occupy the bandwidth, without the knowledge of the user.
The parasites which profit on Limewire, work similarly, but they harm the user much more.

So whenever someone installs programs like Limewire, one should have firewall on and a restore point made before the installation. Second thing that should be remembered while using file sharing programs, is that-- if a search shows only four or five results and that also having the same name as the search text entered by the user, better not to download it.As in all probability, it may be nothing but some smart move by the File sharing program or in simple some juggulary.
Even if after taking all the precautions, the PC gets infected, without wandering here and there, try to restore it to the restore point made before the Limewire installation. If this measure fails to contain the problem, make a proper backup of your important data in the primary drive and format it.

Sorry for a long post, but sometimes can't help !

How to share data online?

Have you heard about P2P(Peer to Peer) file sharing Program. If no, then you can use one such Program. The only condition is you have to share some data on your own computer with the network. One such progam is:

Limewire

In all probability you will find what you desire.Although it is always advisable to buy the stuff one needs, but programs like Limewire are very effective at file sharin, where one can get anything from softwares to movies to songs and so on.

How can I put a particular post at the top of my blog page, irrespective of new posts: Part 1

Big Money Trove found that this is the most common problem bloggers usually face--not all but the non-techie kind. So BMT searched the Internet to find the most convenient way of achieving the said objective. It found some very innovative and easy ways.
For example a blogger, wanted us to back date our posts. In simple if the oldest post is given a date 29 Jun 2008, the next one(or more recent one) should be posted under 28 Jun 2008, or if the posts are made on the same day the more recent one got an earlier time than the older one. In this way the oldest post with the more recent date will always remain at the top of the page. Although many readers hailed the idea, to BMT the method looked a bit funny. What do you think?...To BMT it is like going in the past, or rewinding the time machine.

continued...

How can I put a particular post at the top of my blog page, irrespective of new posts:Part 2

Before searching the net for an easy solution, the BMT team sat down and discussed the issue. The objective was to find out the single reason which prompts a non-techie blogger to search for an easy way "to make a particular post appear at the top" or "to make older posts display at the top".
What came out of the discussion was not expected by the team, barring a few. The single biggest reason was the importance of the first post or the oldest post to the entire blog. The said post in most of the cases is about the Purpose or objective of the blog, and for obvious reasons the blogger wants it to be at the top of the page. What should be understood is that, the blogger wants only this particular post to be at the top, but when he or she puts the query in a forum or searches the net, they put it like "How can i display my blogger posts in oldest to newest order" while what they want is to make a particular post at the top.
The net search proved not to be of much use, as most of the solutions were not very non-techie friendly.
So the BMT team sat and discussed the issue once again, but this time to get the solution of the problem.

The solution:
Every time you make a new post, edit the date of the particular post(which needs to be at the top)more recent than the newest post. One can also give the particular post a more recent time than the newest post, if he or she doesn't want to assign a next day date to the most important post.
The problem with the second edit is that, if you are the one who makes more than one posts a day, you amy have to edit the time options of the particular post more than once in a single day.
And that definitely is not smart.

Reading Lengthy posts is a big challenge for any reader

Blogging is primarily considered a writing exercise. People, who decide to blog, have great faith in their writing skills. Since most blogs choose words as the medium of expression, such a faith is well placed. But this faith has its flip side as well. When a blogger with good writing skills sits down to create a new post, the faith in one's writing abilities overpower the blogger, and what can be put down in a few lines or utmost a couple of paragraphs, takes pages.
To be frank such posts (which start and never end) are a big deterrent for any reader. In most of the cases the reader abandons them, after reading a couple of lines-- unless the content is too compelling.
So try making small to the point posts, so that irrespective of the quality of the content the reader reads up to the last word.

How much toothpaste do you put on your toothbrush?

Toothpaste commercials all over the world show the actors putting toothpaste on the entire length of the brush. The visuals of a brush full of toothpaste have become so much a part of ourselves that we usually don't ask ourselves a simple question, “How much toothpaste should be put on the toothbrush?"
Since we don't ask ourselves such obvious questions, commercials rely on what is called indoctrination to move the products to our homes, and that also with relative ease. They not only push the products, they also dictate us on the quantity to be used.
Studies by experts and experiences of skeptics, today show that, whatsoever a commercial says, a quantity far more less than what is preached, is sufficient for ageless teeth.
A quantity as little as the size of a pea is sufficient
for an adult to keep his or her teeth in good shape and health.
How this is related to money—for the simple reason resources are scarce...
